Stephane Cornicard is a proud neuro-divergent, multilingual actor and director, based between London and Paris, working across Theatre, Cinema, Animation, Video Games, Improv and Performance Poetry.
Early in his career, Stephane was lucky to be cast as lead Gregor Samsa, in the US premiere of Steven Berkoff’s Metamorphosis and later to give life to Jean in Steven Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan. On-air Voice for the Cartoon Network for many years, Stephane started acting and directing for Video Games, when video games learned to speak. And what an exiting time it was. In fact one of his first jobs was to voice the trailer for the first Final Fantasy.
Over the years, he had the honour of giving life to memorable characters in the following titles and franchises : Spyro the Dragon, Crash Bandicoot, Metal Gear, Syphon Filter, Half Life, Primal, Medievil, Total War, Fable, Driv3r, Shinobino, Primal, Goldeneye, Dragon Age, Dark Souls 2 and 3, Horizon Zero dawn, Overwatch, Lego Marvel Super Heroes, Plague Tales, Steelrising, Enotria, The Last Song, Battlefield 2042 to name the most prominent games…
Some characters stand out, because they were such a joy to incarnate : the boisterous, beer quaffing Lonesome Gavlan and the helpful, eager to please thief Greyrat in Dark Souls, The honourable Stroud in Dragon Age, Devious fundamentalist Benevent Vitalis in Plague Tales, and of course his favorite smooth talking mafia accountant Omnic, Maximilien in Overwatch. Napoleon Bonaparte in 4 languages was a fun linguistic challenge, but Syneros in Expeditions : Rome is very close to his heart : A man torn between being both a slave and a father figure to the Player, navigating the dangerous waters of Ancient Rome.
What makes him tick is character work. Characters with grit and backstories. Characters with scars and conflicts. He recently had the pleasure of working on a beautiful character for Limerence by Salix Games : A dad, husband, artist, caught in a family whirlwind he struggles to understand and control.
Stephane’s career these days in spent in recording studios, writing and directing. He enjoys meeting the people who over the years “listened more to him than they did their parents.”
And lastly – Stephane is very funny.
