Andrew Wincott is a graduate of Christ Church, Oxford. He trained as an actor at the Webber Douglas Academy. Leading theatre rôles include: Rochester in Jane Eyre, Alec in Tess Of The D'Urbervilles, Count Vronsky in Anna Karenina, the Actor in The Woman In Black, Tartuffe, Malvolio in Twelfth Night and Jack in The Rivals. Recent credits include The Muse at Leighton House, playing Lord Leighton himself, and The Beast In The Jungle, an adaptation of Henry James’ novella, performed at Snape Maltings with the Doric Quartet.
For over 30 years he's been recording radio drama for the BBC, where he has twice been a member of the Radio Drama Company. Highlights include playing Steerforth in David Copperfield, Newland Archer in The Age Of Innocence and Iachimo in Cymbeline.
He has also created voices for countless computer games and has recorded hundreds of audio-books, including Nineteen Eighty-Four and The Wind In The Willows.
But he is perhaps best known as the voice of Adam Macy in The Archers and most recently as Raphael, a BAFTA-winning performance in the celebrated video game Baldur’s Gate 3.
